We get quite a few school groups and busses, especially in the spring of the year.  We have ample bus parking, seating for 48 inside and 5 large picnic tables outside for accommodating busloads of kids.  Normally, we can serve a busload of kids in about 10 minutes, with them all ordering different items.  That way, you can stop for a quick treat and get back on the road.  Here are a few pictures spanning several  years. Avon Elementary Bikers

As part of the Physical Education program at Avon Elementary, the students in the upper grades bike from the school to the Dairy Queen, then back to the school.  What is so special about that you say?  Well, their school is over 5 miles away!  They bike along the  Lake WobegonŽ Trail from Avon to Albany.  The kids, and usually about 10 parent chaperones and two teachers, all have a great time and get a little exercise at the same time!  This has become a yearly event done each spring.  Once year it was so chilly, they all wore winter coats, hats, gloves, and they still biked here.  Of course, they all wanted hot chocolate and coffee that day!

They usually bring about 40 kids for 3 days in a row!  Wow!

Holy Family School Hikers!

As a special treat every year, some of the classes from Holy Family Parochial School walk to the Dairy Queen for a treat.  The school is about 4 blocks away, and they have to walk up a large hill to get back to school.  The kids, and teachers, look forward to the trip.

Upsala School Bussers!

We could actually call them the Upsala School Hikers.  The Upsala 3rd graders went on a field trip to St. Johns university and hiked 3 miles on their trails!  They worked up such an appetite, they had to stop at the DQ for a treat!
